We are less than a month away from our Gala Holiday Party! The event will be held on Saturday December 15th at Tara's Himalayan Cuisine (17221 Pioneer Blvd. Artesia, CA 90701) from 7pm onwards.
RAFFLE/TOYS FOR TOTS: Make sure to bring some cash for raffle tickets! Let's have some fun while raising funds for our NGO Support. We would also like to take another step towards making a difference during this season of giving and happiness. Each family is encouraged to bring an unwrapped, new toy which we will donate to the US Marine's Toys for Tots drive. Together, as a Dakshini Parivaar, let us make a small difference.
QUIZ TIME: Get ready for a trivia extravaganza based on general knowledge and both Indian and American pop culture, film, music, and history!
KIDZ KORNER: In addition to hot chocolate and cookies, kids will have the opportunity to bond over decorating gingerbread houses and making holiday cards!
RSVP: For this event, we can only accommodate up to the restaurant's certain capacity (including kids) thus RSVP IS MANDATORY FOR SEAT RESERVATION. This event is free for annual members and gold/platinum sponsors. The suggested donation otherwise is $10/kid and $20/adult. We request our members and sponsors to please RSVP by December 1st to provide a one week window to accommodate non-members.
DAKSHINI FOR FIREFIGHTERS: Thankfully the Hill Fire is 100% contained and the Woolsey Fire is 96% contained. Our members who were in fear and even had to evacuate are all fine now. Our gratitude goes out to the firefighters for their efforts. We have established a relief fund to support the firefighters who have battled the fast-moving flames of the destructive wildfires that took shape. If you wish to contribute to this relief fund, please click here to donate.
SANJIT DATTA AND TEAM WIN BRONZE AT THE COLLEGIATE INVENTORS COMPETITION 2018: Sanjit, son of Dakshini members Mitali & Sukanta Datta, is the executive director of the Billion Bottle Project. The team's development from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, Optimized Solar Purification with a Reusable Indicator (OSPRI), could increase access to clean drinking water worldwide and drastically reduce waterborne illnesses. Our heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Sanjit to continue the development of this clean-water device. See article here.
