Dakshini is a non-profit, literary, social, cultural, educational, and charitable organization in Southern California ranging from the Valley to LA to OC and beyond. Dakshini conducts, coordinates and promotes the community, cultural and social activities among the people of Indian origin in the US and the people of other cultures. It fosters friendship and understanding between the people of Indian origin and the Americans. Dakshini seeks to keep the spirit of Bengal alive amongst the Indo-Americans, especially for the 2nd generation.
Dakshini's motto is the ancient Sanskrit phrase "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which means the world is my family.
