About Dakshini
Welcome to the Dakshini – your gateway to visualize & experience the vibrant culture and community spirit of the Bengali diaspora in California!
Established in August 1985 in Torrance, California, Dakshini is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Bengali culture and community bonds. With over 1000 families involved, Dakshini continues to serve both the American and Indian communities through cultural, educational, and social activities. Our platform offers immersive experiences in Indian culture, along with opportunities in education and volunteering.

Dakshini’s motto is the ancient Sanskrit phrase “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which means the world is my family. This homely, non-profit cultural organization has multiple philanthropic arms such as MILESTONE, JOY, AACE, SOCIAL INITIATIVES, etc…

About Dakshini
Dakshini Bengali Association of California is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, charitable, educational and cultural organization. Dakshini was formed in August 1985 in Torrance, California, and is incorporated as a nonprofit tax-exempt organization since July 1986. As a community service organization, we conduct, coordinate and promote the community, cultural and social activities among the people of South Asian origin in southern California and the USA. Dakshini’s aim is to foster friendship and understanding between the people of Indian origin and beyond.
